Aqua Series for Small Pond Owners

The Fractional Aqua Series comes complete with two interchangeable patterns and designed with the small pond owner's needs in mind. Ready to install right out of the box, the Aqua Series fractional aerator provides both aesthetic appeal and aeration, taking care of your water quality management needs. Constructed of high thermal plastics, this unit will stand up in brackish environments and is protected by an all inclusive two-year warranty. In addition, the float possesses recessed pockets where a low volt MR16 light set can easily be "snapped" into place for evening enhancement to your landscape.

Aqua Gem:
The AquaGem has aesthetic qualities with it's plume like pattern, but more importantly it provides excellent circulation - meaning it has phenomenal water quality management capabilities with pumping rates exceeding 200GPM (gallons per minute) in the 1/2HP.

Aqua Blast:
The AquaBlast pattern is primarily for aquatic management needs, creating a subtle pattern similar to what you would find with a bubbling spring. Ideal for small ponds (less than an acre in size.)

Ottershield - Lake Dye

Some bodies of water are naturally dirty looking due to reasons beyond a lake manager's control. Ottershield will turn a muddy looking pond into a sparkling deep blue water feature within moments. Otterbine's special blend of deep blue dye comes in water-soluble packets for easy application. Ottershield is non-toxic and there is no need to measure this product as there is with liquid lake dye products, in addition it won't stain your hands or waterfowl!

Extensive Safety Testing

Otterbine is the only manufacturer of lake and pond products that goes to the extremes of having its aerating fountains, industrial aerators, fountains and lighting systems safety tested and approved as a complete package, while other manufacturers only list their components. Otterbine has the unit, cable and power control center safety-tested and approved by ETL, ETC-C and CE.

This commitment to safety offers you the security of knowing that you can trust your equipment while it is running in the water.

Power Control Center

One of the ways that Otterbine ensures a safe product is by producing a high quality power control center. The power control center offered on all aerating fountains, industrial aerators and giant fountains comes complete with state of the art components including; surge/lighting arrestor, 24-hour timer, hand-off auto switch, external reset, and people protection ground fault interrupt (except 380/460V). These components are provided in a NEMA 3R rated enclosure, optional fiberglass and stainless steel enclosures can be provided for coastal environments.

In addition, when ordering multiple units, Otterbine's dedicated team of engineers will design a panel specifically for your application with all of the controls located in a single enclosure.

Available options for the PCC include:
• Multiple Starter in One Enclosure*
• Phase Monitor*
• EPD Devices for 460V*
• Step Down Transformers*
• Remote Satellite Control*
• Stainless Steel Enclosure
• Water Level Shut Off*
• Fountain Glo™ Light Controls*

* When choosing any of these options, you will receive the large enclosure as the power control center. Note: A slight charge will be incurred for the large enclosure.

Warranty

Otterbine believes in treating customers in an ethical and moral manner. Otterbine's commitment to the customer and to quality products is evident by a complete five-year warranty on all aerating fountains, three-year warranty on industrial aerators and a complete two-year warranty on Air Flo, Aqua Series and all Otterbine fountain products. Otterbine believes in offering you the strongest warranty available in an effort to provide you with years of worry free service.

Installation

Aerating fountains, surface spray industrial aerators and fountain units are typically moored from shore to shore or anchored to the bottom of the pond as depicted in the illustrations below. The power control center is mounted on shore and then insulated underwater cable is run from the power control center to the unit. Below find some of the basics for installing our surface aerator and fountain systems. For complete instructions on these systems, and our sub-surface systems, please refer to the respective owner's manuals.

Please Note: We recommends that all electrical work be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician. Make sure all electrical work conforms to local, state and federal regulations. This is done to insure the safety of you and those around the water feature and panel.

Mooring an Aerator or Fountain

Mooring is most often used in smaller ponds, but is not limited to them. After determining a suitable location for your Otterbine secure your first mooring point using either a wooden stake, rebar, or duckbill anchor. (The duckbill anchor will allow your mooring lines to be virtually unnoticeable as they will be hidden underneath the water surface.) Attach the mooring lines to opposite holes in the outer edge of the float. (Otterbine recommends the use of polypropylene rope or stainless steel cable for your mooring lines.) Launch your aerator or fountain into the water and walk one mooring line around to the other side of the pond and pull your Otterbine into you chosen location. Put in the other anchor or stake and tie off the aerator to it, provide some some slack in the line to allow for fluctuation in water levels and proper aerator start-up.

Mooring is a bit simpler and no boat is needed, making it a prefered method of installation when you need to remove or relocate the aerator on a regular basis.

Anchoring an Aerator or Fountain

Anchoring is a method used most commonly in large surface area lakes when mooring is not an option, or when anchoring is preferred. Otterbine recommends the use of polypropylene rope or stainless steel cable for your anchoring lines. After determining the location for your aerator or fountain, take a small boat out to the area chosen and drop in the first anchor line, place the aerator into the water and securely tie the anchor line to one of the holes on the outer edge of the float. Drop in the second anchor line and securely tie it to the hole on the outside edge directly opposite the first anchor line. Be sure to allow for some slack in the anchor lines.Anchoring an aerator or fountain in waterbodies that experience a lot of fluctuation in water levels may cause problems. Be cautious of this, for instance if the water level rises considerably the aerator may sink below the water surface as it is restricted by the length of the anchoring lines.
